Multi Award-winning car dealer Trade Price Cars will join Team HARD Racing as title partners for the 60th Anniversary of the UK’s premier motorsport series, the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) as they mount a four-car challenge on the 2018 championship.
Having previously already been associate partners in 2017, Trade Price Cars owner Dan Kirby raced with the team in the Ginetta Supercup alongside the BTCC campaign achieving 6 podiums in the am class. The Essex based businessman was keen to expand his involvement with Team HARD in the BTCC albeit taking time out on driving duties for the forthcoming season due to family commitments.
“2018 is an exciting time to be involved with Team Hard Racing, we have got stronger every year in the BTCC. We have built an amazing technical team and all four drivers are capable of success, both overall and in the Independent’s Championship, so it’s fantastic that Trade Price Cars are our new title partners. It’s great that Dan (Kirby) as a friend of the team has given us a superb platform to work together, I can’t wait to see what we can achieve, both on and off track over the year” said Team Principle Tony Gilham.
Trade Price Cars will feature on all-four of Team HARD’s 2018 Evolution VW CC’s, with their distinctive logo prominently visible throughout the teams race operation, bringing guests along to enjoy VIP Hospitality, and benefitting from the incredible TV and Media exposure the BTCC offers.
“Being part of the TOCA package last season was a mega experience not only to drive in but to give something back to my sponsors in hospitality benefits and nationwide coverage. It is so important in modern day motorsport that drivers look after their partners and encourage them along to the track where the atmosphere and general race day vibe is electric. Our guests raved about the VIP Hospitality experience with Team HARD and for the forthcoming season we are confident those businesses will continue to support us. I know how hard Tony Gilham has worked to progress the team, so it seemed an ideal time for us to join as title partners.”
“Already recognised as winners in business now is the time to win on the race track with Trade Price Cars Team Hard Racing. The Independents and Jack Sears Trophy are strong possibilities, we will be pushing for both! Who knows, but It’s certainly an exciting time to be involved with the team” said Kirby.
The 2018 Trade Price Cars with Team HARD livery will be revealed at the BTCC Media launch on 27th March at Donington Park.
Team HARD. are pleased to announce their first signing for this years Ginetta Super Cup. Current M3 Cup Champion (2017), forma M3 Champion (2016) and former Civic Cup Champion (2015) Mr. Adam. Shepherd. The 25 year old racer from Witham has decided to take the step up from winning the M3 Cup for the second time and show case his skills on the biggest stage of British Motorsport The MSA Dunlop British Touring Car Package.
HARD. dipped their toe into the waters of the BTCC support package last year with varied drivers and varying results. After meeting with Adam, seeing his resume and discussing the options that he had going forward is was decided on a Ginetta Super Cup assault.
Team HARD. Boss Tony Gilham Commented on the signing “When a triple champion enters the room as down to earth and humble as Adam you know you have to do something with him. Like all deals it all comes down to the nitty gritty, but like Team HARD. Adam has a great family and support network around him which helped get it over the line. I am very excited to see what he can do in the Super Cup, the BTCC Package can be quite daunting, but I think when Adam gets behind the wheel he will do what come naturally.”
The Ginetta Super Cup is contested over 8 rounds which takes in some of the UK’s best Circuits that include Brands Hatch and Donington Park. In this highly contested championship. Adam will be entered into the Pro category and will compete with the likes of Ben Green, George Gamble and Callum Pointon who won the Pro class and the overall championship.
Adam said on signing for Team HARD. Racing “I’m very excited to have signed with Team HARD in 2018 and feel ready to take on the challenge of Ginetta Supercup. We’ve put in the HARD work over the past three years taking 3 consecutive championships, over 20+ wins and 95% of the rounds entered on the podium across both FWD and RWD single make disciplines. Moving up to the Supercup is going to be a big step, being live on ITV as well as being featured on the BTCC support package along with very tough competition, however, with a great team, sponsors and family behind me, I think we can give it a very good shot. I now cannot wait to get out in the car and start testing ready for the first rounds on 7th & 8th April at Brands Hatch, a dream a long time coming!”.
Team HARD. are excited to announce a third CONSECUTIVE season in British GT this season with a two car GT4 entry and an all new driver line up.
Team HARD. had a very eventful, but frustrating 2017 especially after a very special debut season in 2016, culminating in winning the team championship.
The British GT package is a very special place to be and the team cannot wait to come back this year with a competitive package. One driver pairing is confirmed as is the first seat in the second car and we are in discussions with a few other suitably competitive and funded drivers for the remaining seat.
Team HARD. Manager Gary Allen said, “It was touch and go for a while as to whether we had our two cars accepted for 2018. The appeal of GT racing and the SRO package has meant that the series is in fact over-subscribed, so it was a case of working as hard as possible to make sure we were in the best shape possible for 2018 following approval of our entries. We now have a dedicated GT factory and have built a very solid infrastructure as we look to challenge again for the team championship we won in 2016.”
Team HARD. have a silver pairing already signed for the first car as well as a star of the future in the first seat for the second car. All three drivers confirmed so far have experience in the GT4 machinery and will be looking to hit the ground running come the first race weekend at Oulton Park in March.
Team HARD. Principle Tony Gilham added “GT4 is growing at a very fast rate and the level of competition is very high. We are under no illusions how strong the grid will be this year but are more than ready and as a team we are always up for the challenge. I think the rise of interest in the GT world as a whole and especially GT4 makes it a very appealing career move for up and coming racing drivers. Couple that with our unique concept as a team and that is arguably one of the best overall packages available.”
Team HARD. are very proud to welcome on board for 2018, the market leaders in their industry and the only recognised company of its kind with a ‘Which Trusted Trader’ seal of approval, Engine Carbon Clean (ECC).
Team HARD. and Engine Carbon Clean have agreed a partnership deal that will see the ECC logo feature across various championships this year but headlined by the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. A deal that will continue to grow as the season progresses and the relationship develops between the two companies.
The British manufactured ECC equipment and technology that is used, is very unique and beneficial to vehicles of all types. Team HARD. will have one of the ECC specialist machines at HQ which will be available for customers to come and experience the difference ECC can produce. If you can’t get to Team HARD. HQ there is a nationwide mobile service offered where ECC come to you and sprinkle their “Which” approved magic on your car while you wait. Motorsport is the place where every tenth of a second is valuable, so ECC will be used on the Team HARD. Fleet of race cars to help us stay at the top.
Sheila Docker, Business Development Director for ECC commented, “We are delighted to be partnering with Team HARD. for the 2018 season. The team and all the drivers are a perfect fit for the values and technology at Engine Carbon Clean, as we share a similar passion and dedication to maximising engine performance.”
Tony Gilham added, “We have previously been introduced to the guys from Engine Carbon Clean by a couple of our drivers and over the winter we met up to discuss how we could work together for mutual benefit. As a team we have a unique structure and have built an extensive business hub which benefits any and all of our partners. Once we sat with Engine Carbon Clean it was clear that the product was the one that we would want to be associated with, help raise awareness of and assist ECC building on their existing customer database. ”
The ECC logo will feature on a selection of the Team HARD. racing cars in 2018 and will also look to carry the popular slogan #followthecog. I’m sure you will see this a fair amount as the year unfolds.
