Ray Larkby

Ray Larkby

A married family man with three children, from Swanley, Kent.

Ray joined the Team HARD “family” in February 2018. He originally came to us to be our head truck driver but as the business was growing at a phenomenal rate, so was the fleet of vehicles and in turn these vehicles all required organising and looking after. Soon it was realised that Ray’s organisation skills and willingness to go the extra mile for the team, were perfect for a role in hospitality and logistics. He now sources all of our catering equipment and structures the hospitality staff for the race season. Out of season, he organises the care of the working vehicles and aids the VW cup team in their smooth operation of preparing the Golf race cars, as well as the new venture of building the road legal VW golf race cars, the ‘Edition 34’.

Ray was recently asked “What made you join Team HARD racing”?

“I have known Tony (the boss) for many years and I was in a role at my last work place that didn’t provide much variety or job satisfaction. Tony caught wind of my frustrations and invited me down to HQ for a “chat”. When I saw what Tony had created and where he wanted to take the business I immediately knew that this was the place for me. A real family feel to the company with massive aspirations coupled with a chance to have a direct input to something with so much potential, was all too much to turn down”.
