After witnessing the thrilling and closely contested races of the Legends Cars championship at Brands Hatch, Team HARD. Racing is excited to announce their support for the series, recognising its potential to become a fan favourite on the BTCC support package in 2023.

Among the talented drivers, Connor Mills, racing under number 19, stood out for the team due to his impressive overtaking manoeuvres and unwavering determination to secure a leading position. One race, in particular, showcased his remarkable skills as he stormed through the field, passing 24 cars within just two laps, elevating himself to an impressive 4th place before the race was red-flagged.

Unfortunately, the final race of the weekend took a dramatic turn for the 26-year-old driver from Upminster, Essex, as he was involved in a multi-car incident resulting in a roll-over at turn one.

However, amidst the setback, Tony Gillham, owner of Team HARD. Racing, and Autobrite Direct are thrilled to announce their support for Connor Mills as he joins the group of drivers backed by the team for the upcoming Legends Cars races on the BTCC support package at Croft and Knockhill later this year.

Having started his racing career at the tender age of 8, initially in karts, and having competed alongside the likes of Formula 1 star George Russell, Connor’s spirits were lifted by the call he received from Team HARD. owner Tony Gillham. Connor shared, “I’ve been racing for a long time and achieved success, winning championships in karts and making a mark in the British Formula Ford Championship on the BTCC package back in 2014 before budget constraints forced me to retire. To be recognised by Team HARD. and receive support from a BTCC team is beyond my wildest dreams. My ultimate goal is to compete in a touring car, so being a part of Team HARD. and being on Tony’s radar is the missing piece in the puzzle.”

Tony Gilham added, “Connor is an exceptionally talented young driver, and the exhilarating racing in the Legends Cars championship closely resembles what we see in our BTCC cars. Witnessing Connor’s accident was a stark reminder of Bobby Thompson’s incident in 2020, and seeing him climb out of the car relieved me. I have personally spoken with Connor, and a new chassis has already been ordered. The car will undergo a complete rebuild ahead of the race at Croft. We understand the financial burden accidents can impose on drivers, and if we can assist in keeping this promising driver on track, we are more than willing to help.”

Connor Mills currently has sponsorship packages available for the remainder of 2023, providing an opportunity for companies to support him and contribute to his return to the track, where he aims to regain his position at the forefront of the Legends Cars pack.
