Team HARD. Racing is excited to announce the highly anticipated return of ex-World Touring Car Champion, Rob Huff, to the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) for this weekend’s round at Knockhill. After a brief absence from the series since his one-off appearance in 2017, where he achieved an impressive podium finish, Huff is set to bring his experience and speed to the championship once again.

Huff, known for a long career in touring car racing, is no stranger to the BTCC. He made his debut in 2004, driving a Seat Leon alongside a series icon in Jason Plato, and quickly left his mark by securing two race victories in his debut season.

Huff, completed his only full season in the BTCC in 2004 before moving to the world stage.

Throughout his career, Huff ventured into various racing championships, including the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) and the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR). In 2012, he reached the pinnacle of his career by clinching the World Touring Car Championship title, establishing himself as one of the best touring car drivers of the current era.

Huff has also tasted success beyond the WTCC. In 2020, he claimed the coveted title in the Scandinavia Touring Car Championship, further affirming his status as a touring car great. Most recently Huff secured the WTCR Trophy title last term after securing the championship with two rounds to spare.

Speaking about his return to the BTCC, Rob Huff expressed his excitement and gratitude: “I am delighted to be back in the British Touring Car Championship, especially with Team HARD. Racing. The BTCC holds a special place in my heart, and I have fond memories of my previous time here. I’m eager to hit the Knockhill circuit again and compete against some of the finest drivers in the country. I am determined to give my best performance and help the team maximise the weekend.”

Team HARD. Racing is equally enthusiastic about having Rob Huff as part of their line-up for the upcoming round at Knockhill. Team Owner, Tony Gilham, stated, “We are absolutely thrilled to have Rob join our team for this weekend’s BTCC round. His experience and achievements in the world of touring car racing speak volumes about his skills. We believe that his addition to our team will undoubtedly strengthen our position on the grid and elevate our chances of success this week.

“I’ve been trying to get Rob into one of our cars for a while and I’m delighted that this moment has finally come. The team can’t wait to get going.”

The BTCC makes its annual trip across the border to Scotland, for round 6 of the series at Knockhill and fans will be eagerly anticipating the return of Huff to the championship to see how he does on his return.
