Sunday marked the 6th round of the Junior Saloon Car Championship on the Silverstone international circuit.

Team HARD. Racing have three young aspiring drivers competing in the JSCC in Citroen Saxo VTR 1600’s. The teams managing director and former BTCC driver Tony Gilham’s son, Tommy has been competing in the JSCC for the 2020 series along with 17-year-old Olivia Martin and 15-year-old, Scott Sumpton.

Olivia Martin joined the team in June and is Team HARD. Racing’s first female driver to race in the category; a significant milestone for the team and the representation of women in motorsport.

Qualifying

  • Tommy Gilham in the #34 Citroen Saxo qualified at the back due to technical issues with the car for both races
  • Olivia Martin in the number #69 Citroen Saxo qualified in P18
  • Scott Sumpton in the #29 Citroen Saxo qualified in P21

Race 1

  • #34 finished race 1 in P16
  • #69 DNF race 1 (Not Classified)
  • #29 finished race one in his qualifying position P21

Race 2

  • #34 finished race 2 in P14
  • #69 finished race 2 in P19
  • #29 DNS race 2 due to technical issues with the car

There are two more rounds to go in the JSCC, with the youngsters competing at Oulton Park for the penultimate round of the season on the 31st October and then finally Brands Hatch for the final races on the 7th and 8th of November.
