A round up from the opening round of the 2022 Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup Series.

  • James Taylor made his Team HARD. Racing debut after winning the teams 2021 scholarship programme in February
  • James scored a hat-trick of podium finishes (2nd, 3rd, 2nd)
  • James secured the fastest lap (in class) in two of the three races
  • James leaves Brands Hatch 2nd in the G55 Pro class

James Taylor: “I’m very happy with how my debut went in the Ginetta Supercup this weekend at Brands Hatch. To be back at the sharp end fighting for the top step of the podium right of the bat fills me with confidence moving into the rest of the season.

“Throughout the weekend my confidence with the car grew and heading into the last race I felt as though I was back to my best. Luck wasn’t really on our side in race 3, but the outright pace was there. In the final race not only going from 3rd to 1st around the outside down paddock bend but being over half a second faster in the tricky wet conditions was a great feeling! After leading most of race the result wasn’t what we deserved after contact with a slower G56 dropped us down the order. But, to come away with 3 podiums in our first race meeting is just an indication of what’s to come in the future with Team HARD.

“It’s honestly amazing to be back after not competing at all in 2021 so i’d like to thank Team HARD. for the opportunity after winning this years scholarship programme. I’m really happy with my new team and it felt like throughout the weekend we overcame issues and grew stronger and stronger as a unit as I can’t wait to get back out on track at the next meeting.”
