October 1, Silverstone – Team HARD. Racing and Motus One Racing are today announcing an ambitious partnership to form a new three-car team for Porsche Carrera Cup in 2021.

The Kent squad best known for its BTCC programme will work with Motus One to share technical and commercial resources, with cars and personnel operating from Motus’s facility at Silverstone.

Driver announcements will be made in due course with two drivers already confirmed for a 2021 campaign and discussions welcomed with funded Pro and Am drivers for the final seat.

Team HARD. Racing is a well-established, successful team in multiple disciplines of motorsport and has a strong track record in the top tiers of national racing in both British Touring Car Championship and GT Cup, where it runs four cars in each.

Motus One Racing is a GT team and sports marketing business operating in national series such as GT Cup, Britcar with Ginettas, Mclarens and Porsches. It is also the works team for Brabham Automotive for BT62 hypercar.

Incoming drivers will benefit from a new human performance facility with racing simulators and a driver gym available at Silverstone, along with a winter testing schedule in the Carrera Cup cars.

The Porsche team’s direct links to the Team HARD. Racing Touring Car squad means drivers, guests and sponsors will be offered unique access to both Porsche and BTCC paddocks in terms of hospitality, grid walks and race weekend experiences.

Tony Gilham, MD of Team HARD, said: “I’m delighted to be joining forces with Motus One Racing for an assault on the 2021 Porsche Carrera Cup GB series. I have fond memories of the Carrera Cup GB championship after competing for three seasons between 2008 and 2010, finishing runner up in the Pro-Am category in 2008.

The Carrera Cup GB has always been one of the most hotly contested series on the TOCA support package and we are under no illusion that it’s going to take a lot of work to be challenging consistently at the front from the get go but we are up for the fight and will be doing everything we can to put ourselves in the best possible position.”

Will Powell, MD of Motus One, said: “We’re delighted to be able to confirm a team in 2021 Porsche Carrera Cup, in partnership with Tony and Team HARD. Racing. Both teams share the same competitive will to win and pool of drivers in other series, so it’s a great fit. While we’re under no illusions how fiercely competitive Carrera Cup GB is, this three-car effort is a statement of intent for the future of the team and the growth of our motorsport consultancy business.”
