Gallagher too HARD to stay away
Team Hard Racing are pleased to announce the 2nd driver to confirm his seat with the team for the 2014 VW Racing Cup. Kieran Gallagher will return to the series to build on a his debut year last season.
Kieran first burst on to the scene when a deal was put together to make his VW Cup debut at the legendary Spa circuit in Belgium. Having not been to the track before and straight in to qualifying Kieran made steady progress throughout the weekend gaining speed and experience with every lap under his belt. No doubt he will be more than ready when we return there this season.
Kieran is a very strong character and his rise to the top was very fast progress culminating in a BTCC debut at his home circuit of Knockhill in front of his home supporters. Having had a license for little over a year an impressive points finish on his BTCC debut was just rewards for the development on and off track over the course of the weekend.
Gary Allen, Team Manager said We have been working Hard with Kieran over the close season to put a package together and although BTCC was a target, we felt that it was a little too early to make that step up on a full time basis. We have decided to carrying on working together in very much a building year both for the team and Kieran. It is important to develop as a driver aswell as work with new partners and sponsors.
Kieran made his debut with us last year in the VW Cup and at times showed some great potential with some very respectable lap times. This season will be about building on last year and aiming to achieve some real solid results. All of the track were new to Kieran last year so going back this year with some testing under his belt shoule enable him to challenge towards the front commented Les Wilson.
Kieran is delighted to be back with the team and had the following to say,
I am ecstatic to be back in the seat with Gary and the Team again. I always said I wouldn't go anywhere else and i've stuck to that. We were chasing sponsors for BTCC but we think that a full season of VW Cup is going to help cement my name in Motorsport. I can't wait to get back in the seat shortly to test the new cars and work with the guys to develop them in to potential front runners
