A good GP for VW Cup
The 4th driver in the Team HARD Racing line up for 2014 and the latest to announce that they will be back for a full campaign in the VW Cup this season is Graham Perkins. Graham made his racing debut last year at the wheel of the GP Cars backed Mark 5 Golf GTI at Rockingham. After several track days and a love for fast cars, Graham decided that it was time to see how he would fair in a full race situation.
A very impressive racing debut in the competitive VW Cup saw Graham achieve a highest qualifying position of 10th at Snetterton and a best result of 13th place. This is an achievement in itself for someone so new to racing but also in a series that has so many talented drivers. A steady rate of improvement has set a solid foundation on which to build on for the coming season.
I thoroughly enjoyed the racing last year in the VW Cup and am very much looking forward to testing my new car and getting up to speed for the start of the new season. I will be looking to continue improving as a driver and work with the team to develop the car as I set out to achieve some top 10 results. I have had very little track time and am still learning some of the circuits but will give it my best shot to mix it as high up the field as possible.
Working with Graham last year, it is clear that he has a good understanding of the techniques required and also very good car control. His willingness to listen and his obvious appetite for competition will stand him in good stead as he targets a strong campaign. Les Wilson, Chief engineer.
