Before the last race of the season we spoke to Team HARD BTCC driver Jake Hill:

How long have you been in motorsport?
I have been around motorsport since i was 12 days old as my Dad was racing Formula ford but i have been racing cars since 2008 and been around the TOCA paddock since i was about 10.

What made you want to become a racing driver?
I have always wanted to race nothing else has crossed my mind with what i want to do.

How did you get to where you are now ie. What championships have you raced in?
By working very hard non stop and i have racing in Ginetta Jr, Ginetta G50 cup, Ginetta G55 Supercup, Porsche Carrera cup, British GT, Porsche Mobile 1 Supercup, BTCC and a few other small championships.

Do you have a favourite driver/ driver you aspired to be when you were younger?
Always looked up to my Dad but Ayrton Senna was the one of course most people looked up to.

How is your season going so far?
Some awesome results but also a lot of (what could have beens) so not a bad year but not the best, however its still not over!

What is it like driving for Team HARD?
Challenging, being a small family run team we struggle to keep with the works teams in BTCC but i still manage to bring the fight to them and the team are behind me all the way.

What are your ambitions for the future?
To win Le Mans 24hr and to become a touring car champion.

What is your favourite car you have driven?
By far it has to be the only car i idealise. the Nissan Skyline R34 GTR

What is your favourite racing car?
By far again the Mercedes SLS GT3 car

What is your favourite circuit?
Brands Hatch GP or Portimaeo

What is the best thing about being a racing driver?
Being able to drive cars you can only dream about and be in a position to drive them as fast as they will go, being a racing driver is all about the driving for me not what comes with it, those few minutes when i am Racing is when i am truly at my happiest.
